During Viet Nam I was part of "Operation Starlite, Supply Column 21". We sustained 15 dead and 15 wounded. Sgt John Omalley I Co 3/3 was the recepient of the prestigious "MEDAL of HONOR".

It would be an honor to hear from anyone who may have known of me during my 20years of service. I'm presently living in San Diego, CA after retiring fron the Chula Vista Police Department.

Hello,I'm helping my Dad, James H. Gordon, find Men that served with Him.He was in the Headquarters Co.;2nd Battalion;Assault Squad;9th Marines;3rd Division. He was 17 whenever He joined the Marines and was wounded in action on Iwo Jima.If anyone has any information He would be so proud to talk to you. He is 75 now and this has been his goal, to find His friends that were also injured the day He was.He's never been able to find out about other buddies. Was with Alpha 1/5 3rd plt. Stationed at Camp Hansen in '87 and '89. Then in '91 at Camp Schwab, on beautiful, Okinawa, Japan, also known as "The Rock". My battalion lost a platoon of marines in '89, in South Korea, during the Team Spirit exercise in a chopper crash. God bless the marines of "Suicide" Charlie Company 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st platoon. And God bless the 3rd Marine Division.

Looking for buddies. Sailed on USS Roshambeau from San Diego to San Franisco Nov. 13, 1944. Ate Thanksgiving dinner at Pearl Harbor Nov.26,1944. Sailed on USS Rochambeau to Eniwetok, Marshall Island was there Jan. 5-22, 1945. Disembarked from USS Rochambeau Jan. 28, 1945 on to Guam Marianas Island and joined 3rd Marine Divison, FMF.Was to board USS Gasconade but boilers burned up. Feb. 11,1945 sailed aboard USS President Jackson to Iwo Jima.Feb. 22, 1945 arrived and disembarked at Iwo Jima. Was injured Feb.22, 1945 with knee injury, patched up and sent back to the front lines. Left Iwo Jima April 11, 1945 even though records show March 16, 1945. Discharged March 1, 1946 from San Diego. Never recieved Medal for injury, Service unable to find medical records. I am trying to locate info on L/CPL PAUL ANTHONY DEVERS, from Jackson Heights, NY. Paul was KIA 10Aug65 in Da Nang. We served together at H&S Co, 2nd FSR, Camp LeJeune during 1963. Paul would ride with me on weekend trips from LeJeune to NYC (out of bounds, I know) for free just to keep me company. I was just married, so those weekends were VERY important to get home! One weekend, I taught Paul how to drive (three-speed-on-the-column) on the New Jersey Turnpike! I read about his death in the NY Daily News late-summer 1965 and was very saddened. Corpsman in Chu Lia, Da Nang and Hoi An area with a Delta-3 combined action platoon until wounded on May 18th 1967. Medical discharged from camp pendleton naval hospital, calif. 1968. I was in-country for almost all of my 13 month tour. Those where some strange days to say the least, yet special knowing and working with the marines and doctors of that time period. Re: Battle of Virgina Ridge, Aug 6-10, 1969. My brother, Donald J Pierce, Jr had only been with 2/3 Fox Co since 7-31-69 as he had just arrived in country. He was later KIA in Quan Nam on 3-18-70. I have found a reference to this battle in one of his letters and would like to know more about it. I think the above dates are correct but not sure. I also believe that the unit was recommended for a Presidential Unit Citation for this battle. If you can provide any information regarding this battle, or if you knew my brother, I would to hear from you.

I'm a Marine brat. My Dad is former Captain now (for the last 40 years)country Doctor John Orlando Williams, Jr. from Mount Pleasant, Tennessee. He's now 75 and still working. He was awarded the Silver Star for his efforts in Korea. He was assigned to the 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division, 3rd Batallion, How Company. After Korea, he was assigned to Bermuda (nice gig) where one of my little brothers was born and then to Quantico where my three older brothers (he's got 5 sons, no daughters) and I learned to play poker when we were 2,3, and 4 years old, as taught to us by our young Marine babysitters. My dad doesn't fool with computers so e-mail to him is out of teh question. But if you knew him and/or have any messages for him, please e-mail them to me and I will be sure he gets them. There is no stronger bond that my father has with anyone than with a Marine. The very best to all of you.

Was stretcher bearer @ 3rd Med in Quang Tri from 8.15.68 through the end of March of '69. Would really love to find the MARINES I carried stretchers with. SGT. Mallot, Leak from Georgia, John Smith Long Beach, Ca & Oaklahoma, Watts from Louisiana, & Johnson Huntington Beach, Ca. Then was out at Cua Viet from 5/1/69 putting a fresh water system for the Marine Track unit there and the men who rode the PBR's. This was my second tour in Vietnam.

I am looking for ANYONE who might have details on my mugging in the Philipines on or about the 19th November 1985. I can't remember much but what I can remember is I left Okinawa to deliver an airplan part and took local taxi. En route the taxi turned into an alley thereby I was set up and mugged. I was left for dead. A Jeep was passing and saw me thereby taking me to the gate at Clark AFB. My memory is vague as I was passing out, but I recall being at Clark AFB and at Subic Bay Hospital. Please if anyone knows anything e-mail me asap. I have had numerous health issues related to this and have a claim held up due to "not enough information". The volcano distroyed Subic Bay Hospital and all its contents. The VA is taking the stance (in my opinion) that if the VA can not find the records for verification the mugging never happened. The information I have given thus far was provided by a friend who came to visit me in the hospital. He said that I am lucky to be alive.
