The mission of the Marine Corps Heritage Center is to create a place where all Marines, past, present, and future and especially the American people, can come to view the history of our great nation through the eyes of Marines.
The Marine Corps Heritage Center is a public/private partnership between the Marine Corps and the Marine Heritage Foundation. It is designed to tell the story of The Marine Corps and its glorious place in our nation's history. The Center will be built on 135 acres adjacent to Quantico, just off Interstate 95.
The first phase of the new Heritage Center will be a 120,000 square foot facility, Heritage Hall, which will house a large, world-class museum, a theater, concessions, and offices and stand adjacent to a parade ground. The museum will enable the Corps to consolidate, preserve, and display its priceless artifacts, historic documents and other memorabilia in a state-of-the-art facility comparable to those currently available to other services. It will also serve as a gathering place for Marine associations and other supporting organizations. Importantly, this site will include a Memorial Park to those who have gone before.
