As we begin putting things in place for our 58th Annual Family Reunion in San Diego, we have reached that yearly point where your Association asks for your direct support through the Dedicated Member Page program. As always, we need the support of each and every member. The funds raised by the Dedicated Member Page program comprise about one-third of the Association's budget and it goes into the General Fund. It supports Association functions such as printing and mailing CALTRAP, postage, telephone, recruiting, etc.
The success of the program determines the level of support your Association provides to the Memorial Scholarship Fund, the donations it makes to the museums at MCRD Parris Island and MCRD San Diego and the Devil Pups and other worthwhile endeavors. DMP donations also help fund awards to the Division "Marine Of The Year," and the "Outstanding Cadet" at the Marine Military Academy, and maintain the "Care of Our Own" Life Member program for 100% disabled former 3rd Division Marines and sailors.
In the past, the annual dues provided the bulk of the Association's operating funds with approximately 92% now Life Members, the annual dues from the remaining 8% of Annual Members does not meet our needs. We assess the separate Life Member account a modest amount each year but that still leaves us short to operate the Association. The printing and mailing of CALTRAP uses all of what we receive in dues from Annual Members and more.
As with last year, your Association is asking for a $25 donation for each name you want listed in the Reunion Journal. Please DO NOT SEND CASH. This is NOT a dues payment.
