The sponsoring parent must be a member of the Third Marine Division Association in continuous good standing for at least two years before a scholarship may be granted. Sponsoring parent means the Marine (Corpsman or other) who served with the Third Marine Division or in support of the Division at any time. Associate members do not qualify.

The child must be a dependent, unmarried child. Age 16 to 23 For first time applicants. Maximum age 26 for continuing scholarships. Dependent child may include adopted children. Scholarships are not offered to grandchildren.

We will grants scholarships for up to four years for undergraduate work only. Trade schools may or may not qualify. Grants are made only for students wishing to attend schools in the United States or Canada. Grants are for the following school year.

Child must maintain a “C” average to continue on the program Each year requires a new request for a scholarship but these application will be send out automatically for students on the program the previous year. Do not apply after April 15th or before September 1st for applications.

All requests should contain the name and address of the sponsoring parents and the name and address of the student requesting the grant.

Students who apply after September 1st of any year will receive application shortly after January 1st of the following. Requests for applications of students who fulfill the above requirements will be mailed shortly after they arrive. All applications must be returned by April 15 of the year that aid is requested. Applications arriving after April 15th will be denied aid. There will be no exceptions.

It appears that if your children meet the above you will receive application shortly after the first of the year. Please, reply as soon as possible.
